Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani was reportedly the subject of another Justice Department investigation, which focused on possible illegal lobbying he carried out on behalf of Turkish clients.

Bloomberg News ran a story Tuesday, claiming that the investigation, which has been ongoing for a year, focuses on Giuliani’s work in 2017 for Reza Zarrab and Fethullah Gulen.

RUDY GIULIANI’S LICENSE IN LAW SUSPENDED IN NEW YORK FOR “DEMONSTRABLE FALSE” ELECTORAL LIES

According to the report, Giuliani, then personal attorney for then President Donald Trump, called on the Trump administration to drop charges against Zarrab over a sanctions circumvention program and extradite Gulen, who was accused of ” attempted a failed coup in 2016 against Turkey. President Recep Erdogan. Zarrab ultimately pleaded guilty in return for Erdogan’s involvement in the scheme, while the Trump administration refused to extradite Gulen.

Bloomberg The report also noted that, unlike the investigation into Giuliani’s alleged work in Ukraine, the investigation into Turkey does not have a “criminal” aspect.

The former mayor’s apartment was raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in April as part of the Ukrainian investigation, and the government seized all of his personal devices.

New York State has also suspended Giuliani’s legal license for repeating “patently false” claims about the 2020 election and his role in Trump’s attempts to slow down certification of results.

Trump reacted to Giuliani’s suspension by presenting it as a “witch hunt.”

“Can you believe New York wants to take away his law degree from Rudy Giuliani, a great American patriot, because he fought what has already turned out to be a fraudulent election?” “They should be ashamed of themselves,” he wrote in a statement.
