Highway 770 fatality part of larger criminal investigation: RCMP

A fatal crash west of Edmonton is part of a larger investigation into a “chain” of break and enters, police have confirmed.

According to RCMP Constable. Sarrah Williams, the accident at Township Road 524 and Highway 770 on August 4 is “part” of a criminal investigation.

She said Parkland County constables investigated a series of break and enters and stolen vehicles in the area.

Tuesday morning, no arrest had been made and the case was still “very active”.

No details of those involved in the crash were released by police on August 4.

Police on Thursday asked rural residents for security footage of three “vehicles involved”:

  • A gray 2004 GMC Sierra;
  • A black 2021 Chevrolet Silverado and a gooseneck trailer; and
  • A gold 2007 Dodge Caravan with a taillight.

“Parkland RCMP are asking anyone residing in the rural area between Spruce Grove, Holborn and Carvel, Alberta to review their security cameras and report any suspicious activity between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. on August 4, 2022,” the RCMP said in a statement.
