FBI launches criminal investigation into Ocean County hiring: report


TOMS RIVER, NJ — The FBI is conducting a criminal investigation into Ocean County’s hiring practices, according to a report.

Federal officials having assigned Ocean County job applications and staff resolutions over the past five years, according to Asbury Park Press. These documents would include recordings of all raises, hiring decisions and approved leaves, according to the report.

The FBI ordered the Clerk of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners to turn over related documents to a federal grand jury before May 5indicates the report.

County sources told APP they believe the FBI is investigating allegations of bribery, according to the report.
