The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is currently conducting a criminal investigation in the Seaford area which began Tuesday evening.
On October 12, 2022, at approximately 11:53 p.m., soldiers responded to a residence in the 2800 block of the West Stein Highway in Seaford for a reported home invasion with a shooting where two residents were found injured by gunshots. The victim, a 19-year-old man from Seaford, was shot multiple times in the chest. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Victim identification is pending notification of next of kin. The second victim, a 19-year-old woman from Seaford, was also struck once in the lower limb. She was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.
The investigation determined that five suspects forced their way in through the back door of the residence. Once inside, the suspects brandished handguns and went straight to the victim’s bedroom where he and the female victim were and demanded an unknown object. The male victim was shot in his bedroom and the female victim was shot sitting in a chair in the same room.
