Anthony, 34, is known for the sensational 2011 murder trial in which she was found not guilty of the murder of her two-year-old daughter Caylee.

The New York Daily News reports that Anthony plans to open an IP company in Florida, where she filed paperwork in late 2020.

As a convicted felon, Anthony will not be able to obtain a private detective license herself.

The new business is registered at the West Palm Beach home of Patrick McKenna, who was lead investigator for Anthony’s defense team, according to the Orlando Sentinel; McKenna also worked for the defense during the OJ Simpson murder trial.

People magazine says Anthony intends to change the way people look at her; “She knows what it’s like to be accused of something she didn’t do,” a source told the magazine.

Caylee Anthony disappeared in 2008 and was not missing for a month. Casey Anthony lied to his own parents about the fate of the child in the meantime; Caylee’s remains were found in a wooded area about six months later.

The prosecution claimed Anthony killed the child to be free and free and to have a greater social life with his boyfriend.

The defense advanced a story of accidental drowning to explain the child’s death, using incest intimations to cast Casey Anthony as something of a victim himself.

With little forensic evidence, a jury acquitted Anthony of first degree murder, manslaughter and aggravated child abuse.

A 2018 CNN follow-up to the case includes quotes from Judge Belvin Perry, Dr. Jan Garavaglia (the former Chief Medical Officer of Orange and Osceola Counties) and Detective John Allen, who all believe that Caylee Anthony’s death was a homicide. .

As Dr. Garavaglia said, “IIn this case, we have a child who is not reported missing. When the child is reported missing by the grandmother, there is no credible explanation for what happened to that child. The body has clearly, clearly been hidden. He was put in two plastic bags, then put in a canvas bag, then thrown behind a rotting log a few blocks from his house. …And then we have the duct tape that is ever present on the face.
